What this site is
SepticPlain publishes general information, guides and tools, free to read and funded by advertising. Nothing on the site is professional, financial, legal, medical or other personal advice. Read our disclaimer before relying on anything here.
Using the content
You may read, print and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short passages with a link back to the original page. You may not copy whole articles, republish them, scrape the site in bulk, or present our content as your own without written permission.
Text, graphics and calculators on this site belong to SepticPlain unless stated otherwise. Photos are used under their providers’ licences and credited where they appear; those licences, not these terms, govern their reuse.
Calculators and tools
Calculators and tools give estimates from the figures you enter and the sources they cite. Results may be incomplete or out of date, and are not a quote, an offer or advice. Check important figures with the original source or a qualified professional.
Acceptable use
Do not try to disrupt the site, get around its security, overload it with automated requests, or use it for anything unlawful.
Advertising and links
The site shows ads from third parties. Ads and linked websites are not ours, and we are not responsible for their content, products or practices. We do not use affiliate links and we do not accept payment for coverage. How ads use cookies is explained in our cookie policy.
No warranty and limitation of liability
We work to keep information accurate and current, but the site is provided “as is”, without any warranty. To the extent the law allows, SepticPlain is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed, and using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
