Reporting an error
Please include the address of the page, the figure, rule or sentence you think is wrong, and a link to a source for the right information if you have one. For a state or county rule, a link to the code section or the health department page helps most. We check every report against the source. Our corrections page explains what happens next.
Questions about your own system
We do no pumping, installs or inspections, so we can’t price your job, size your system, read your inspection report, review your quote or recommend a company. Our guides and calculators show what a quote or report should cover and which questions to ask. A licensed local professional does the real work, and your local health department or permitting office decides what your system needs.
If sewage is backing up into your home or surfacing in the yard, contact your local health department. If someone collapses in or near an open tank, call 911 and do not go in after them.

If you publish a figure we cite, or make or sell a product we describe, and a fact on our page is wrong, send a source and we will check it like any other report.
